Field setup instructions

A vital part of any Saturday morning is our field setup. (Scroll to the end for field maps) WMFC is fortunate to have such a large playing base of young footballers and we all need somewhere to play! Each week, nominated teams from our Miniroos program come along to help lay out the cones, corner flags and goals to get us started.

U6/U7 teams:

  • play on our 'corner fields' which are marked out using yellow cones during field set up. Each U6/7 team then uses its own pop-up goals at each goal line and training cones to create sidelines.

  • U6 teams pack up their goals and training cones at the end of their match, ensuring that they leave the yellow cones in place.

  • After the U7 games, these teams are required to return the yellow cones to the stacker just outside the Junior Equipment Shipping Container

U8/U9 teams:

  • play on small-sized fields (approx. a quarter the size of a full field)  which are marked out using corner flags and cones during field set up. Each U8/9 team then uses the Bownets at each goal line.

  • U8 teams collect one Bownet from the shipping container to set up on their field. Please ensure you extend all arms of the frame and secure the base using the pegs provided. U8 teams are to leave all cones, corner flags and goals set up for the U9 games which will follow.

  • After the U9 games, all cones, corner flags and bownets are to be returned by the U9 teams to the Shipping Container. We rely on these teams to pack away the equipment as there will be no further games using this equipment.

U10/11 teams:

  • play on small-sized fields (approx. half the size of a full field)  which are marked out using corner flags and black lines. Each U10/11 team collects the corner flags and the small-sided goals (aluminium frames) to set up each field.

  • Before your games, please check the draw for the day (posted on the clubhouse wall) to determine whether you will be required to pack away all equipment after your match.
